Before this time of the year in recent years past YBNL helmsman Olamide would have already scored a major hit for himself. Some of his major hits in the past two years like Lagos Boy, Shakiti Bobo, Who U Epp, all came in before August of 2015 and 2016.
However, 2017 has been different from the usual and what would be widely expected. The rapper seemed to have had a rather tough time in churning out an immediate street banger something unfamiliar with his pedigree as an artiste.
Olamide, always the ever hard working guy as we have come to know had already moved on from his sixth studio album “The Glory”. The album was barely promoted beyond three months after its release last December. Since then the indigenous rapper cum singer has thrown out three new personal tracks which did not bang like they were deactivated explosives.
Love No Go Die, Wavy Level and Summer Body did not quite hit the spot. Someone might have feared Olamide has lost his unique touch or apparently running out of his creative juice. So it seems until the 28-year-old Bariga breed music star dipped his hands into his archives and served us “Wo!!”.
“Wo!!” reminds you of the Olamide that you have been craving for all year long. For those of us who yearn for a mad dance tune to wiggle and dance to, Baddo’s new jam is something you should add to your party playlist.
Thumbs up to YBNL in-house producer Young Jonn for coming through with such a sensitive up tempo beat tailored for the Nigerian party goer. The Young Jonn produced beat is one that implores the listener to forget all and dance.
As one would expect Baddo serves street laden and witty lyrics on “Wo!!”. For those who hardly comprehend Yoruba, that doesn’t matter as the beat serves the purpose of getting you to turn up.
On “Wo!!” Olamide seeks to connect with the street which has always been the backbone of his career. Just like a lost soul, Olamide has somewhat found himself with his latest jam. It wouldn’t take time for the “Wo” to go viral.
