has yet again added another lovely feature which will be released to all users soon. The new feature allows users to write their status update on a colorful background, with lovely font, and emoji combination. Currently, it's still a server side test available to some beta testers.
Facebook started using this colored status feature some time last year on its Android app, where users have the ability to design their status update with a colorful background, beautiful fonts, and big emoji. Now facebook has passed the feature to its sister company, Whatsapp, all in a bid to persuade people to use the Whatsapp Status more.
To access this new Whatsapp colored status feature, go to the 'Status tab' and click on the 'floating pencil button' on the bottom right.
Meanwhile, some users on the latest 2.17.291 beta version are yet to see it, but its also visible on some beta testers WhatsApp version. So it could be a server side switch.
